Life Lessons:: Random Thoughts :: What I Know Now:: Don't Freak Out!

It only took me -- years to figure this out! But, it’s been valuable enough to me I think I should pay it forward… here goes:

In the grand scheme of things, there is really nothing that earth shattering worth stressing out about. It is so liberating when we learn to just step back, breath and let it go. It is what it is and stressing out about it is not going to change anything. Instead, breathe and ask the right questions and determine the next action... What am I, what are you, what are we, going to "do" about it. Freaking out does not deliver solutions, freaking out brings more chaos and disorder to the situation. Chaos and disorder solves nothing.

Have a great day!

Touch the Moon...

Last night I spent what seemed like forever out on my front lawn just watching the moon. It was quiet remarkable. The moon appeared just "that close" you could almost touch it. I began to think to myself, how many things appear so close yet so far away. Our hopes, dreams and aspirations... are actually not that far out of our reach. We just need to move a little closer. Sometimes its fear that keeps us grounded sometimes its money or other circumstances. The truth is, if we really want something, if it’s truly important to us we can always find a way to bring it to fruition. Take that step, get healthy, go back to school, make that connection, go on the interview, launch that business, write that book.... touch the moon! ♥ ~CH~

People watching...

I'm a people watcher. It’s amazing all the stories that I can conjure up in my mind as I sit and watch the people come and go. Sitting in my favorite corner of my favorite little breakfast/lunch spot, I see many people just coming and going, the lady that always orders the coffee and French toast, and the guy that starts his day with a diet coke. The young bus boy just making his rounds from table to table, he seems preoccupied today, I wonder what's on his mind.

And, then I see her.... she was sitting by the window, all the way on the other side of the restaurant this sweet little elderly lady, she is beautiful, silver hair, coffee colored skin, pink lipstick. Even though there are clearly many more years behind her then there are in front of her she is still radiating beauty.
I thought she was alone, but, then... an elderly gentleman appears, he is quite dapper, well dressed, I imagine he was quite the ladies’ man “back in the day.” Is he… her husband, maybe? Yes....her husband... he kisses her on her head and she looks up at him, so lovingly, as if it was the first time she was seeing him.

He places her coffee and muffin on the table in front of her; he takes the seat across from her. His oatmeal arrives. I bet they have been eating the same breakfast for the last 50 years, muffin and coffee for her, oatmeal for him. I smile to myself as I think; maybe he is watching his cholesterol so he can be with his love for another 50 years. They are so cute together. They don't say much, I doubt they really need to "speak" actual words to each other after all these years. She hands him a napkin, he smiles, and she touches his hand. ..... I love people watching....

Tomorrow, I'm going to wake up happy.

An excerpt from a chat I had with our 6yo daughter, this evening (we call her little duck) ....

Our Little Duck: "Mama, tomorrow I'm going to wake up happy."

Me: "Why do you say that baby?"

Little Duck: Because, I just am... tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day! Let's believe on that! :)

♥ I love this child and every single word that comes out of her mouth! ♥

I think we should all plan to wake up happy tomorrow!
